I've been re-reading the His Dark Materials trilogy by Philip Pullman. They're working on the movie version(s) right now, so I gotta refresh my memory!

I finished my Paul Theroux short stories and picked up more Augesten Burroughs. I need to find something more "permanent" before I get swept away with Disney review materials.

I'm on a Dan Brown Kick right now. Loved The DaVinci Code (Must be the artist in me and I especially loved the points he made about Walt Disney) and Angels and Demons. Just about to finish Deception Point. So far, pretty good read.
My all-time favorite book of all is The Stand by Stephen King

Now that I have read the short story (aw heck, stories) in Stephen King's Skeleton Crew that are associated with the Dark Tower Series, I am a little bit closer to my goal. I am still working my way through SC, but it has been very exciting. "The Mist" was super creepy but truly fascinating. Sounded like what happened to an area that went through a beam break to me.

Every so often, I peek in on Mouse Under Glass by David Koenig. Still haven't found Book the Fourth in the SOUE series.

When I had Jury Duty last week, I grabbed a book at the grocery store to fill my time. It was not something that could be read in public, so it is reserved for a time I feel like reading a sexy novel. It is called Love: A User's Guide. A Novel of Romance with Attitude by Clare Naylor.
Anything listed on the park maps as an attraction is fair game for inclusion in the Rally.
I cannot confirm nor deny the inclusion of any attraction in the Rally.

I re-read Toby Young's How to Lose Friends and Alienate People last week. I have this Manhattan magazine world fixation.....and after reading it this time, I found some sites/boards dedicated to figuring out the real identity of several of the characters in the book whose names had been changed. Very cool!! I love that other people read this freaking book and were nerdish enough to do some digging.

I'm in the middle of a book called Martin Sloane and still reading Kent Haruf's Tie That Binds. I HATE when I pick up multiple books..... I started Jon Krakauer's Into Thin Air this morning, and have been reading 10-12 pages of Allen Ginsberg's Collected Poems 1947-1980 or some of Dorothy Parker's stories every night before bed.

I'm all over the place!!! :o

I have been told to read the "Adventures of Kavalier and Clay" by the lovely Eliza!! I plan to purchase this book sight unread, because I want to be more adventurous in my literary endevours!!
I picked up "Jonathan Strange and Mr. Norrell" by Suzanna Clark. It's a real snoozer! My next book will either be a Richard Matheson (horror) or Terry Brooks (fantasy). I had previously read the last Stephen King book "The Gunslinger". Great series that I suggest.

I was hoping it would be as good as the Harry Potter series but it really isn't all that. When I searched around for another book, I researched this one and it was highly recommended but there were a few people who didn't like it. Think I'm one of those.

Hope she likes it, tell me what she thinks when she gets it.

Well, that's pleasure, in my opinion! Oscar Wilde is STILL one of the wittiest writers in the universe. I always have to stop and wrote quotes down whenever I read a book of Wilde's or see a film adaptation. Fun stuff!

Last night I read Sidney Sheldon's Are You Afraid of the Dark? It sucked. But I'm used to him sucking. Ugh. I have this thing....I must read every book by Sheldon, Grisham, Cornwell, and Tom Wolfe. Even if I am disgusted afterward. At least I've stopped purchasing them. Well....okay, I've purchased all the Cornwells and Wolfes. Grisham and Sheldon I can get at the library. That way I don't feel so violated.

I've read all of Joyce Carol Oates and Sue Miller, but they don't make me want to peel off my skin and wonder where their talents went. Their talent is still very much intact.

I read Sandra Cisneros' The House on Mango Street and am ready to pass it off to my daughter. We're going to a mother/daughter discussion group next month. It was good.

I've started Gregory Maguire's Mirror, Mirror and I'm halfway through Jon Krakauer's Into Thin Air. I need to not have one book upstairs and one downstairs!!! It's my new bad habit!!! I like reading one book at a time. I hate being all over the place.

My book group is reading Life of Pi. Can't say I'm excited about it (though I've heard it's excellent), but I have it on hold at the library.

I just finished Girls in Pants: The Third Summer of the Sisterhood by Ann Brashares. It was cute... just as the other two books were and it brought me back to my high school days.

I was excited to see that the book publisher was having a contest for tickets to the premiere of the movie. Needless to say... I went to the website..... and found out that you have to be between the ages of 8-17. Having said that... if you have, or know some youngins between those ages, it's an essay contest. Click here for more information.

I'm currently reading Holidays on Ice by David Sedaris. So far... it's freaking hilarious!!
