  • Where is Glago's Guest?

Hi - I remember hearing some hype about this animated short back when Bolt was coming to theatres. Then, all of sudden, people stopped talking about it.

Was it ever released? Is it available online somewhere? I'm very curious to see it.

Hopefully someone can shed some light on this!

It was originally talked about running with 'Bolt' but obviously didn't. WDAS' Chris Williams apparently pitched half a dozen story ideas to John Lasseter at the time, the two he liked and gave the go-ahead on were 'Prep & Landing' and 'Glago's Guest'.

It received some prestigious recognition, four nominations and one win at the 2008 Annie Awards for Best Animated Short Subject, Best Writing in an Animated Television Production or Short Form, Best Production Design in an Animated Television Production or Short Form and Storyboarding in an Animated Television Production or Short Form.

GLAGO'S GUEST did have a limited theatrical release and qualified for the 2008 Best Animated Short Oscar.

I actually had the privilege of being shown Glago's Guest by Ed Catmull. It was really good! Haven't heard a whisper about it since then though. Hopefully they release at some point because it was really good. Leaves you wondering right until the very end.

Our revels now are ended. These our actors, As I foretold you, were all spirits and Are melted into air, into thin air: And, like the baseless fabric of this vision, The cloud-capp'd towers, the gorgeous palaces, The solemn temples, the great globe itself, Yea, all which it inherit, shall dissolve And, like this insubstantial pageant faded, Leave not a rack behind.
