  • Herbie Fully Loaded:

I used to love the herbie movies growing up. And judging from the trailer it looks like this one will follow the same formula as the old movies did (which makes me happy) but with some new special effects(not so sure on some of them)

you can see the trailer on yahoo

so I want to know what you think about this trailer. high hopes?

The effects look pretty decent, and it's got a huge cast of relatively big names. Now if Lohan can manage to keep herself um... covered... it looks like it could be fun!

Hmmm....Michael Keaton and Matt Dillon. Maybe worth a look. Always enjoyed those two.

And does anyone think it was any accident that Lindsay has the line....."She's too young for you"?
"The old man's gonna knock on the sky. Listen to the sound."

        AP'er since 2004. Yup.....I'm one of THEM.

Way to go Disney on ruining another classic. I mean really. A NASCAR race? And Lindsay Lohan driving a bug in a NASCAR race? I know it's Herbie but that is very corny and sappy. The it wouldn't be so bad if they didn't add all of the 'facial features' to the car...it ruins it.

well i dont mind too much the blinking eyes. allthough for me it would be more subtle and they wouldnt actually go as far down as they do. I may have mentioned the car looks like it is smiling but not actually bend the bumper. I think a more subtlety should be used I'm more worried about lame things like the car driving on the walls? i mean yeah its been done in other movies but with old school special effects. the whole CGI is what worries me.

I like the poster art for the movie. I learned it to be referred to as Vector Art, so if any of you designers out there can correct me if I'm wrong, that's how I will continue to think of it. Anyway, I seem to have a hard time doing that stuff, despite the simple instructions I was given.

I've read opinions from critics that say Linsday Lohan did a fine acting job in this film. I've never seen a Herbie movie so I'm not sure I'll be interested in seeing this one.

Vector art is one way of describing it, yes, although that is more a description of the file format than the style of art...

Look on the bright side. At least this is sequal and not a remake.

True...but I just get frustrated when Disney keeps ruining franchises. These movies just don't have the magic that Disney's live action movies used to have.

This specific movie is gonna ruin the franchise? Herbie goes to Monte Carlo didn't exactly win any academy awards.

I've never seen any of the older herbie movies, but this one look ok. Some parts look ridiculously fake like when herbie slimbs over the other nascar when it was boxed in. That and the fact that a beetle is in NASCAR make me wonder... But so far it looks ok, I'd pay matinee, but not full price!

                          Two words... Lindsay Lohan.

                          I'll be there opening night!
I only hope we never lose sight of one thing... that it was all started by a mouse!

To someone who hasn't seen the older ones, I can see how you'd be questioning some of those cheesy effects. But the Herbie movies have always been full of things like that. Things that look goofy not because of the effects, but because we know there's no way within the laws of physics it could happen...

The smiling fender and blinking headlights however, are a different story...

Well, the effects make the movie cheaper to produce that is for certain...

Before they had purchase several cars and rig them to do tricks...

Too bad they won't do a promotional even for it... I am curious to see how many VW art cars are left...
