  • "Dream House" sounds like a nightmare

Hopefully, this does not inspire 50 Cent, Puffy and Lil' Kim (on parole) to take on The Philadelphia Story...

Thomas Haden Church is joining Ice Cube in the remake of Mr. Blandings Builds His Dream House, which Steve Carr is directing for Revolution Studios, reports Variety. Shooting is scheduled to begin in May in upstate New York.

Written by Hank Nelkin, the film is a remake of the classic 1948 comedy that starred Cary Grant and Myrna Loy as a couple who chuck their Manhattan apartment for a big house in the suburbs. The fixer-upper proves to be a nightmare.

In the new version, Ice Cube will play Mr. Blandings, the role originated by Grant. Haden Church will play Chuck, the contractor who takes on the challenge of renovating Mr. Blanding's house.

Haden Church is starring as the villain Sandman in Sony's Spider-Man 3, due out on May 4, 2007. He's also lending his voice to Paramount's Charlotte's Web as Brooks the dimwitted cow.

Wasn't The Money Pit a remake of the original? So Hollywood is so out of ideas they're making a remake of a remake? Lame.
Honor those who fall under the sword.
But pity the warrior who has slain all his enemies.

Different characters, similar concept. Much cheaper than paying for the rights to the original.

Awe crap! Why can't they just leave the old movies alone!?!?!? (Hmm, like Cheaper by the Dozen and Yours, Mine and Ours???)
