  • Early Review of Pixar's Brave

Hi everyone. Over on Aint It Cool News a reviewer has seen a very early version of Pixar's "Brave". He or she is quick to mention that it is a very early version and much can be changed in the time before it is released. However, the review is not good. It sounds like more of the same Disney rebelious princess movie from the early 90s. I can't help but wonder that in the rush to get a Pixar movie with a female protagonist if they have made a mediocre film to fill a quota. Well, time will tell and they have lots of time to fix the problems that the reviewer mentions.

Here is a link to the review.

Ain't It Cool News: The best in movie, TV, DVD, and comic book news.

Ultimately, I have faith that it will work out in the end.

Hard to believe any non-pixar employee has seen even a working print of the film that only went to the animators last month. Maybe that's why the "review" doesn't seem to be on the site any longer, AICN must've pulled it for good reason. Like staying on Disney/Pixar's good side for free flights/food/merch and access to their upcoming releases...

This hardly fits the description of a rushed project. The original writer/director Brenda Chapman had worked on 'Brave' for over ten years since leaving DreamWorks Animation where she co-directed their first feature, 'The Prince of Egypt'. Mark Andrews is now directing the film.

Well given that the review is now gone, it is hard to talk about it. The point that the reviewer was trying to make (I think) was that what he saw was a lot like those films, nothing new.

However, given that the original review has been removed from Aint It Cool, we should probably close this thread.
