Fox Going "Back to The Future" Again?
    Posted: Thursday December 22nd, 2005 5:13pm
    Source: Moviehole
    Author: Garth Franklin

Michael J Fox has revealed that he's in talks to do another "Back To The Future" movie according to Moviehole.

However, Fox has a condition that his character has to have aged as much as he has in real life. The "Spin City" actor first starred as Marty McFly in 1985 followed by subsequent outings in 1989 and 1990. He admits that he's currently in negotiations for a final film in the series but wants to take over Christopher Lloyd's eccentric scientist character, Doc.

"The only way it would work would be if I played Doc. I'm 44 years old now and I'm not interested in running around on skateboards. I think after 1, 2 and 3 we all kind of felt we had done it. And I think if they did it again now, they would do it with a younger cast and just do a different realisation of it, which would be fun" says Fox.

I hope he means that he would be more of a replacement of DOC rather than him taking over the character. Him as Doc just doesn't feel right as he is Marty MCfly, I don't think I could see him any other way.

There can never be a replacement for Doc Brown. I really hope they don't make another unless Christopher Lloyd is in it, otherwise it could just never work, IMO.

It would make sense that Marty becomes some sort of scientist in the footsteps of his mentor but the movie should be like Star Trek 3- The Search for Doc Brown...maybe Marty is the one that causes Doc Brown to slip and fall and invent the time flux capacitor?!?! Hmmm? HMMMMM? Tie it all together!

ugh if they make this movie, they should make another one where audience members go back in time to stop them from making it.

Nahh... That would be too much like Futurama!

Thanks Boingonut. I sort of figured that it wouldn't happen no matter what. MJF Parkinson's makes it very difficult for him to act. One reason he quit Spin City was he had to take so many drugs to keep him "still" that it became more exhausting for him than the actual disease. Just reading that stuff makes me sad. I want MJF back!

According to the movies this wouldn't work anyway cause they kept talking about how Marty runined his music career by getting in that accident. But by the end of the third one he changed his future. Which leads you to believe he follows his music dream.

however by creating this new alternate future, he created a new unknown future, and he might have done something else....

"Doc Brown", Marty MCfly will never be. By the same token, no lead character can replace the charisma-tastic Marty. If the film's key roles are not reprised, they might as well call it Crap To The Future. Thanls, but no thanks.
