Heath Ledger should have won for Best Actor; otherwise I have no qualms!

I wish King Kong was in there.

He'll probably win Best Actor/Drama at the Golden Globes. The Hollywood Foreign Press Association seems to have always supported him, even through his last few films.

I'm lobbying heavily for a "Brokeback" trifecta of Picture/Director/Actor for the Oscars with my brother (he's an AMPAS member); fortunately he loved the movie too! The "buzz" seems to be that "Brokeback" is a frontrunner in many categories, including adapted screenplay, supporting actor/actress, and musical score among others.

            I'm so happy about:

BEST ACTRESS - Reese Witherspoon ("Walk the Line")
BEST SUPPORTING ACTOR - Paul Giamatti ("Cinderella Man")
            BEST ACTING ENSEMBLE - "Crash"
BEST YOUNG ACTOR - Freddie Highmore ("Charlie and the Chocolate Factory")
BEST COMEDY - "The 40-Year-Old Virgin"
BEST DOCUMENTARY FEATURE - "March of the Penguins"
BEST FAMILY FILM (LIVE ACTION) - "The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe"
BEST SOUNDTRACK - "Walk the Line"

            This one though:

BEST YOUNG ACTRESS - Dakota Fanning ("War of the Worlds")

WTF is this??? Is this for lack of another choice??? My choice personally would have been AnnaSophia Robb from Because of Winn-Dixie or even for Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.

I still have to see Brokeback. It's my choice of movies this weekend and although I still want to see Kong the wife doesn't. She hasn't even heard of Brokeback but I think she will like it.

Yes, please do! I think your wife will like it (I hate to make a sexist generalization, but women really seem to respond to the movie). And please report back what you thought of it, I would really like to know. There is a thread in this forum on the film already, please add a post with your thoughts:
