  • Your favorite Disney movie moment

It can be any moment that just left a lump in your throat, made you cry, laugh to tears, stand up and cheer........animated or non-.

A couple of my favorites are.......

Kevin Flynn (being prodded by the MCP guards): "Hey look if this is about the parking tickets, I can explain everything OKAY????"

Timon: "Let me get this straight. You know her. She knows you. But she wants to eat him. And everybody's okay with this? DID I MISS SOMETHING?"

Peter Strelzyk: "Are we ...... in the West?"
West German Policeman: "Of course you are."

    Will Turner: "You cheated."
    Jack Sparrow: [shrugs] "Pirate."
"The old man's gonna knock on the sky. Listen to the sound."

    AP'er since 2004. Yup.....I'm one of THEM.

Oh, god how could I forget this one???

Jack Sparrow: Why is the rum gone?
Elizabeth: One, because it is a vile drink that turns even the most respectable men into complete scoundrels. Two, that signal is over a thousand feet high. The entire royal navy is out looking for me; do you really think that there is EVEN the slightest chance that they won't see it?
Jack Sparrow: But why is the rum gone?

I happen to heartily disagree with the 'vile drink' comment as rum makes me even more charming by leaps and bounds, but I do love this exchange as far as Disney movie moments go.

plus the end of that scene when he pulls out the gun and debates shooting her...

        LOL...

LOL!! I have to admit.....that's one of the true comic moments of modern cinema. Johnny Depp is one of our great American movie icons.

~Goosebump Moment: Transformation in Brother Bear. The score is breath taking!
~Fluffy Moment: The final kiss in Aladdin and Al's reaction after A Whole New World. Awww.
~Classic Romantic Moment: It's a tie between Cinderella's So This Is Love, Snow White's Kiss and Aurora and Phillip's walt in the forest.

Does Pixar count? A good lump in the throat moment is when Sully had to let go of Boo. Gets me every time!
            I lurk.

I really love Meg and Hercules' big ending kiss, and "What, you never seen a black and white before?" from Mulan. When the birds in Cinderella sigh during "A Dream is a Wish Your Heart Makes".

Oh yes, and that kind of enjoyable stalker creepy thing when Phillip comes up behind Aurora and sings "The way you did once...", especially the horrified look on Aurora's face.

In Finding Nemo, the crabs on the pipe with their "aaiiiiihhhh" sound and then when Dora holds one outta the water to make him talk.

And the entire movie of Pirates...
                  Mellymouse

(do you think the Finding Nemo Subs line will be under 3 hours by then?)

In Nemo, when Dory is telling Marlin that she can't live without him...when He thinks Nemo is dead...just the whole movies moves me every time I watch it.

All the Art in Sleeping Beauty is amazing!

                    The Message in Brother Bear.

And Scat Cat and his gang of 'swingers' from Aristocats!

I love the moment when Prince Phillip and Aurora are dancing on the clouds in the end, with her dress changing colors and "Once Upon A Dream" being sung

Also, any moment from Finding Nemo is a favorite!
                          BLOCK - PARTY - BASH
I'm gonna sing it; from the heart behind these hands

Okay....it's totally cheesy.....but I have several favorite scenes in the original Parent Trap.

When Sharon and Susan sing "Let's Get Together" together.....my friends and I used to play air guitar and sing that song when we were nine.

When Sharon and Susan figure out they're sisters.

Maureen O'Hara in that vavavoom peasant dress making spaghetti sauce in my dream house (other girls dreamed of Barbie houses, I dreamed of that ranch with the pool), flirting with Brian Keith.....god, I loved them.

That last shot in Monsters Inc when Sully looks through the door and has that big smile - I full-on wept.

I also think the entire "Kiss the Girl" scene in Little Mermaid is just flat-out gorgeous - like an old school Hollywood musical in its excess and color, but animated. Same goes for the Prince Ali parade in Aladdin, and Friend Like Me.

"Step in Time" from Mary Poppins is also a really great sequence...along with "Feed the Birds"...heck, there isn't a musical number in that movie that I don't think is really awesome. Ed Wynn on the ceiling is pretty cool too.

And the march of the cards in Alice in Wonderland - and All in a Golden Afternoon (the first time I saw that movie was on the big screen at Disney Studios in Burbank and I had a bad cold at the time and a bit of a fever and the colors were so bright and incredible when all the flowers were singing that I actually had to shield my eyes).

Also, even though the portrayal of the crows is super racist, I think "When I See an Elephant Fly" is a great song...it's one of the few songs I have on my iPod that I always listen to when it comes on and I think the crows are just really, really cool.

Hahaha, apparently I can't pick a favorite. If Pixar did an animated musical I think it would be lifechanging...they use color so well and have such great notions of timing.

The whole "Once Upon a Dream" sequence is lovely, from the animals ganking Phillip's clothing to the mirror reflection of the waltz. If I was pressed, my favorite is the split-second Philip catches Aurora before she realizes she's been caught.

The turtle sequence from Finding Nemo is funny and quite sweet. "I don't know, but when they know, you'll know, you know?" Marlin is able to see that Crush is able to relax and enjoy (and encourage) the wee turtlet.

The skies of London-- both during "You Can Fly" and "Chim Chim Cheree." There's something so magical about the twinkling lights and Big Ben all lit up. I've always wanted to go, and these two movies make me wistful for a place I've never been.

Jumbo and Dumbo's secret and sorrowful meeting after Jumbo has been jailed. "Baby Mine" is as loving a lullabye as you'll find, and the tenderness and urgency between the two of them is enough to make my four-year-old niece wracked with grief every time she sees it. Me too, Julia, me too.

The entirety of "Rhapsody in Blue," but specifically the dream-skating sequence.

                                        What about shorts? They're mini-movies.

                                        "Applecore."
                                        "Baltimore."
                                        "Who's your friend?"
                                        "Me!"
                                        (splat.)

Lambert the Sheepish Lion taking on the wolves with a head-butting.

And speaking of butting, Donald getting an upside-down hot towel and shave.
