  • Cars Voices????

Ok, I know its early, but my husband and I have been debating this.

In the trailer for cars- I can tell the voice of the sportscar is Owen Wilson. I think the voice of the Truck is Larry the Cable Guy. My husband says no way. Does anyone have any info about this?

Both Owen Wilson and Larry The Cable Guy are listed as being voice talent on Cars, and I'm pretty sure you're correct in thinking these are the two in the trailer.
Other voices include Cheech Marin, Paul Newman, Bonnie Hunt and Pixar's lucky mascot John Ratzenberger.

Being British, I thought that "Larry The Cable Guy" was a pseudonym for a publicity-shy Paul Newman. :o

Anyone care to fill me in on Larry and his appeal?

(Does anyone else feel the teaser trailer is slightly under-whelming, with the best joke ripping off Men In Black?)

Yeah, I think the trailer is underwhelming. On the other hand, I wasn't too impressed with the trailer for The Incredibles either.

          Thanks all
BTW - as an "industry insider" the first trailer is a "teaser" and meant to simply generate interest, especially since the movie isn't slated for release until 2006. It was meant simply to have something to show on "The Incredibles" Subsequent trailers should be better.

Yes I should have known the voices thing- I work on the distribution and marketing end of things, so I don't know anything about the movies before they are released. Thanks (I am so glad I was right

He's been around for years on various radio programs and comedy stages, but he's gotten much bigger in recent years due to the success of the Blue Collar Comedy Tour and the subsequent Blue Collar TV (both of which he shares with Jeff Foxworthy, Bill Engvall and sometimes Ron White). If you can relate to the culture they represent, they are hilarious, but I can understand how a Brit might not "get it."
