  • 'Hallyuwood' to Get 370 Bln in Facility Investment,KBS Global, 2006

Gyeonggi Province will spend 370 billion won on facility investment for the planned massive complex for film and entertainment "Hallyuwood."

Gyeonggi Governor Sohn Hak-kyu on Wednesday said the ambitious plan on the park's infrastructure includes monorails to attract investment from famous foreign theme parks such as Disney and Universal.

The province will spend two trillion dollars through 2010 to build the complex on a plot covering a square kilometer.

Hallyuwood will house an international business center, theme park and hotels as the development and distribution hub for domestic entertainment content.

A ground-breaking ceremony was held last month in the northwestern Seoul suburb of Goyang.
