  • The Office on NBC

Has anyone else had the chance to catch this show? I think it's so much funnier than the UK version. I've never really caught onto the British type of humor, oh well. Here's a link to watch the episode aired last night.

And I must say that this was one of the more funny moments of the show.

LMAO That is actually funny. but I've not seen the show. If you spend your day in an office full of dopes, it's sometimes hard to hang in another with similar company. If you say so, I'll ck it out. Only if TCM sucks that nite.

I've BT'd the first episode, and although I was born a raised on Gervais (hey-that rhymed!), I thought it was very funny.

I especially liked how the UK-centric references where changed.
I'm also looking forward to the US version of Finchy, and am interested to see if it will include Keith's lunch break advice....

I am a huge fan of The Office and british comedy so I'm a bit skeptical about the US version. I tried to watch it tonight but I couldn't get into it. Maybe next week?

This is the funniest thing I've seen on TV in ages.....which means some bonehead at the network will have it cancelled midseason.

i watched the first episode and i just couldn't get into it. I'm not saying it was bad, because i did laugh at the jokes, but i didn't care much for the style of the show. The documentary style just didn't do anything special for me.

No no you are confussing the executives at NBC with the idiots at Fox. If this were on Fox it would be in the can already.

I dunno, its hard to compete with Scrubs, Arrested Development and Curb Your Enthusiasm and those are from a recent age.

Ah, took the words out of my mouth!

Scrubs, AD, and CYE are hilARious!!

I missed last night's ep of The Office, but I'll be sure to catch it again next week. Last week's cracked me up! I bought the British version on DVD and doubted that the US version would be funny (Coupling, anyone?), but dang, we loved it! Reminded us of Christopher Guest movies.

I look forward to seeing it next week.....doesn't seem like the humor can last. Seems like the format will play itself out, but I sincerely hope it holds up over time!! Who would have thought Seinfeld would last ten seasons or so?

And Steve Carrell and Stephen Colbert are the funniest guys on TV, methinks.

His scene in "Bruce Almighty" where Jim Carrey takes over his speech functions almost had me on the edge of suffocation.
