  • Final Fantasy VII: The Advent Children

This incredible CGI movie using characters from the Final Fantasy VII game is finally arriving in stores next Tuesday. I have talke to several friends who have seen the Japanese Language version and they all say it is awesome. Makes Final Fantasy: Spirits Within look like it was done by little kids. They say the story, art and CGI is so awesome on this one, it will go down as the best CGI film yet.

Just thought you CGI and Final Fantasy fans would like to know.

So excited.. of course I've been excited for a while now.... Dang square and their constant push backs.

I've seen the japanese version and even though I couldn't udnerstand it, it looked awsome. so realistic and at the same time true to the video game.

    Bahamut is... well.. you'll see.

I watched it last week and have a copy at my house (perks of working for Blockbuster). I'll post some captures later. Everything looks GREAT!

My ex used to CONSTANTLY play this (still might for all I know). I thought it was kind of cool at first, like watching a little movie... but his playing it near 24/7 drove me nuts and ended up being one of several reasons why I dumped him.

Still... I'd be curious to rent this one just for the hell of it.

OK, I was actually kinda excited for this movie because I just started playing the game. Then I saw the Japanese version. And I didn't understand a thing. I asked Hound Dog "Does this make any more sense to you than it does to me?" He said he thinks so, but wasn't sure. We finally got the English version and what a difference! English subtitles of the Japanese version do not do the story justice! All of a sudden the movie became fantastic.

Favorite parts: Tifa burns Cloud after the attack in the church with Reno and Rude just standing there awkwardly.

Reno doesn't say 'yo' every five seconds like he did in the Japanese version.

Rufus: "A good son would have known."

Good CGI and action sequences, bland story.

            What happened to Cid?

it's actually part of the dialect he uses.

he's spoken like that ever since the original japanese game, but it doesnt translate to english well, so...there you go...
