  • Walt Disney BIO-PIC

Now that I have your attention, something has crept into my mind as a writer and filmmaker recently; Walt Disney. Far be it from me to actually mastermind a bio-pic on my hero but the possibility still intrigues me. I am not suggesting they should do this BUT IF THEY DID...

While watching a dvd on Walt the other night, I was startled at how interesting his life was. More so than Howard Hughs or J.M.Barrie, Walt's life and career are the material of Oscar worthy writing, direction and acting material.

Who would write it? Who would direct it? More importantly who would play Walt? I would love to hear your suggestions:

    Director:

    Writer:

    Walt Disney:

    Roy Disney:

    Lillian Disney:

    Elias Disney:

    Flora Disney:

Personally, as I watched this DVD I considered Johnny Deep as someone who could play the legend. Otherwise I am at a blank.

I think Johnny Depp would make a great Walt.

He is a massive Disney fan already and if you look at him in Ed Wood with the mustache he has that similar look and hair, it would just require a more controlled subtle performance. I have been reading about how Walt experianced mood swings and was a perfectionist and I think those are a great basis for a real human story to played out on the silver screen.

and that's part of the reason why I never felt bad about my habit. 'Hey, my hero loved smoking...'
I only hope we never lose sight of one thing... that it was all started by a mouse!

Only for a short while though - think of how much better our world would be if Walt had lived longer!
