  • 'The Black Rider' - a night at the theatre

One of the most thrilling and controversial events ever presented in Los Angeles at the Ahmanson!

Performances run through June 11th at The Ahmanson Theatre at The Music Center Los Angeles

Had a chance to see this very, very different show last night. It's about making a deal with the devil and finding yourself at the crossroads from Germanic folklore told with Faustian glee. It's one of the most unusual performances I've ever seen at The Ahmanson and would recommend it for the adventurous theatregoer.

Before the show was almost as dramatic: we saw Julie Taymor (directed "The Lion King" on Broadway and the film, "Frida") at the Pinot Grill, she's there to direct Academy Award-winning composer ("Frida") Elliot Goldenthal's L.A. Opera production of 'Grendel'. Today it was announced that this Saturday's premiere has had to be postponed due to technical difficulties.

Then we saw and sat across from Rebecca Romijn (not blue at all up close) and her lovely fiancee Jerry O'Connell.
