  • DUMBO at the El Capitan - Now!

I don't know why this info isn't wider spread. I didn't even know about it until I was invited to go last night. But anyway, the El Capitan is showing Dumbo on the big screen right now! It's awesome being able to view all those watercolor backgrounds up close and in detail. If memory serves... I don't think Disney did watercolor backgrounds again until Lilo & Stitch.

Anyway, there's my recommendation to you for the holiday weekend. Go see Dumbo!

Unusually and exceedingly peculiar and altogether quite impossible to describe...

      Heh, cool.

I was so jazzed on Thursday night though, because there was a panel discussion before the film about Winnie the Pooh, and on the panel was Richard Sherman! Then they showed WtP and the Hunny Tree before showing Dumbo.

Afterwards I got to meet Richard Sherman and shake his hand! Okay, so it's not like having time to carry on an actual conversation or getting to know a person, but the Sherman Brothers music writing team are such a vital part of the Disney Legacy, and I felt honored to be in the same room with that guy! Living history, folks!

Is Dumbo a real film print or one of their funky digital-do-overs (like Cinderella and Lady)?
