  • Happy Birthday Brian Wilson-he's 64 too!

You heard a lot the last couple of days about Paul McCartney's 64th birthday....and he's still being fed, and greeted, etc..."now he's sixty-four!!!"

Did you know that Brian Wilson, the in-many-ways musical genius and founder/leader of the Beach Boys, is 64...today? Just two days younger than his contemporary from across the pond.

Brian says that the Beatles "Seargent Pepper" s the best album ever made. And Paul marvelled at Brian's "Pet Sounds" and "Smile" projects among other Beach Boy and Brian works.

After years of troubles, Brian's doing just fine as a solo act these days.

And I'm proud to say...he's my cousin.

    HAPPY BIRTHDAY BRIAN!!!

Are you sure you don't mean Mike Love? If Brian is back performing with the band that currently calls itself the Beach Boys, that's news to me. He's had his own successful solo career (with his own band) for several years now.

As for me...if there's nobody named Wilson on the stage...(with also cousins Carl and Dennis having passed away)...it just ain't the real Beach Boys...to me...

BTW you could also mean Bruce Johnston...who joined the group as the "phantom" Beach Boy, touring in Brian's place, in the mid-60's. He took over that gig from a guy named Glen Campbell...and he wrote a song that Barry Manilow recorded called "I Write The Songs" that made him a very rich man...
