  • Pirates movie score

Does anyone know the name of the music which plays when Jack makes an escape from something or does something comedic etc? It is quite light-hearted and jumpy. I really cannot explain it any better. It's one of those things where you either know it or won't have a clue.

I'm dying to find the track. I need the name first though!

Why not just buy the whole CD? It's great music.

I'm not really sure. I know what you're talking about, but there is no real 'track' of that theme. It's interspersed among different tracks at various moments.

Zimmer's score was much better than Badelt's.

You should buy it. I'm not giving you the name of the track so you can go off and download it.

            It's an awesome soundtrack!

I like the Badelt soundtrack, and I like how Zimmer evolved it into this soundtrack. It's nice.

One of the most spirited and fun parts of the film was watching Davy Jones play the organ score with multiple tentacles, and in perfect sync.

The Zimmer track emotes a wider variety of emotion - both bouncy and dramatic. As Tui has related, it is based on the framework laid out by Badelt previously.

I like how Zimmer used vocals, they were haunting.

That, and alot of the movie... is in each track....

like it's all mixed in with a previous themed track...

but buy the soundtrack.. at bestbuy if possable for the extra and better techno tracks...

                      Re: Pirates movie score

Well, Badelt's greatest problem is that he uses a basic variation of the same theme in almost any movie score he does, (easiest replication is Thunderbirds).

Zimmer did an excelent job, as always, and he provided a darker, more contrasty source of music. He stuck to instruments of the time and era and continued to incorparate the basic themes throught the movie- however he did have one error- he played some theme's too often. For instance the "jack sparrow to the rescue" theme and the "blundourous joke" theme (i dont know the true names). But, the themes did tie in as nicely as they did in old scores and it was done very traditionaly which I enjoy
