  • Stephen Kings new TV series on TNT

Did anyone watch the new Stephen King series last night on TNT?

They showed two episodes, each one hour long. I believe there are 8 episodes so far.

They are kind of along the lines of the old Tales from the Crypt series on HBO, minus the crypt-keeper, of course.

    Interesting.

    TNT Link for the show

Page on the Official Stephen King Site

This sounds good enough to TiVo. I wonder if they are new stroies or if they are from his long list of Short Stories.

My better half is the SK expert, so I wouldn't know.

Here is the plot from the first episode.

WARNING!!! Do not read if you don't want to know about the show.

The first episode last night was cool. It involved a hitman that killed the president of a toy company. Soon after the hitman returns home, he recieves a package. The package contains an army man toy kit complete with helicopters, jeeps, bazooka's, machine guns, etc..., and was MFG'd by the company owned by the man that he killed.

Well, knowing SK, you can imagine what "karma" does to the hitman when the soldiers "come alive".

There is one MAJOR thing that I did not mention (too good of a spoiler) that really made the show interesting. I'll keep that a secret...

      I'll leave it at that.

Does this sound like any of his short stories?

Re: Stephen Kings new TV series on TNT

I just had to figure this out. I did a search on each of the titles to see which collection of short stories each show is from.

Battleground - Night Shift (the only one from that series)
The Road Virus Heads North - Everything's Eventual (this is a really good story!)
Crouch End - Nightmares & Dreamscapes
The Firsth Quarter - Nightmares & Dreamscapes
        Umney's Last Case - Nightmares & Dreamscapes
Autopsy Room Four - Everything's Eventual
The End of the Whole Mess - Nightmares & Dreamscapes
You Know They Got a Hell of a Band - Nightmares & Dreamscapes

Now I have to go out and get Nightmares & Dreamscapes so I can read these stories before I see the shows.

I have it recorded from last night. I can't wait until Autopsy room four (I read that one.)

I'm just waiting until they decide to actually do the Dark Tower series.
