  • Memphis Woman Falls From Amusement Park Ride - ABC - 7/30/2006

A Tennessee woman was injured when she fell from a small roller coaster ride at the Magic Springs amusement park in Hot Springs, Arkansas.
Police say 45-year-old Felicia Robinson of Memphis was riding the Twist and Shout Saturday when centrifugal force pushed her out of the car she was riding in.

Police say she fell about 15 feet from the ride, even though an amusement park official said it was ten feet.

Robinson was taken to a local hospital and was listed in stable condition. The Arkansas Labor Department sent an inspector to examine the ride. The accident was the first the park has had since it opened under new ownership six years ago. Park officials say the rides are inspected every day and are safe.

I am reserving judgment until I hear more details. Scary notion though, I hope the woman will be ok!
