  • Looking for a Walt Disney Autograph

I've been looking around the internet for a few weeks in hopes of snagging a Walt Disney autograph. Ebay has em, but before I commit, I just wanted to see if any of you had any ideas as to where to find one.

I'm willing to spend some money on one, but want to make sure I'm getting the best I can.

The Monorail and Train document from that website is awesome! But almost $6000? Eh, I'll pass!

A close friend has one (he also has hundreds of other celebrities, politicians, etc.) and is always willing to sell. The last I talked to him he told me Walt's usually goes for around $6000.

Only place I'd trust for that is Sid's at MGM down at WDW. I know they have had Walt signed checks for sale in the past and they have had it for less than $6000 in the past. Don't know if there is a way to contact them though.

Wow guys, Thanks. The link especially was awesome. The picture that chaps my hide, however is the one with all the kids getting autographs from Walt. If they only knew how much money they were sitting on at the time!

Re: Looking for a Walt Disney Autograph

What's funny is that the original autographs look very little like the official 'Walt Disney' brand autograph.

You do know that the "official signature" was created by graphic artists at the studio? Walt was also embarassed that he never was able to draw Mickey very well.

Yes, I knew that, I just thought it would be.. um.. closer to what his was.

I'm not sure there is a more widely recognized signature ... maybe John Hancock's

There was an autographed pic of Walt in Starbillias (sp?) in Downtown Disney a couple of weeks ago. You might try there.
