  • El Capitan and the Little Mermaid

Does anyone know if there will be any special events to coincide with the little mermaid being show at el capitan theater? like any guest appearances, chances for autographs from said guests, concept art on display, anything of that nature?

any info you guys may have on that would be greatly appriciated!!

The only thing that I've been told is:

We will have Exclusive Pins. We may have some exclusive toys but it has been confirmed yet [as of July]. If we did it will be one or two items. Otherwise, we will have some Disneyland and Disneyworld Little Mermaid items.

    Hope that helps.

Well, the panel discussion was last night (9/7), and Ariel is supposed to be there at every screening.

I went to the panel discussion, guests were- the directors, voice and model actresses for Ariel, head animator for Ariel, and composer Alan Menkin. He and the voice of Ariel (name escapes me at the moment) performed "Part of Your World." Also in attendance was the director of the Lion King (who was premiering his new short film "The Little Matchgirl") and Roy Disney.
It was a pretty special night.

We went this past Saturday, and it was great! After the organist, a live announcer came out, described that this was a new print, and bubbles came up from the stage. An Ariel performer greeted the crowd, and then sank below the stage to start the film .... after the film ended to applause, Sebastian - a live character dressed up came out and also made an appearance. Very fun time, and the first time I had been at the El Capitan.
