Anthony Marcoly has been promoted from evp to president, sales and distribution, Buena Vista International Inc., taking on a more comprehensive management role overseeing all aspects of sales and distribution for Disney and Touchstone Picture films internationally, as well as continuing his oversight of international acquisitions.
"Anthony has established himself as an industry leader, proving himself to be pivotal in helping BVI achieve and maintain its dominance at the international box office, consistently grossing over $1 Billion for the last 12 years," said Mark Zoradi, president, Walt Disney Motion Pictures Group, to whom Marcoly will continue to report to.
A 22-year Disney veteran, Marcoly first joined BVI in 1992 during its initial startup phase as finance director and was integral in establishing BVI as a standalone theatrical distribution company. He soon became head its sales organization, later adding acquisitions to his responsibilities.
As BVI's evp, distribution and acquisitions, Marcoly led the overall distribution efforts for recent successes, including PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN: DEAD MAN'S CHEST, CARS, THE CHRONICLES OF NARNIA, FLIGHTPLAN and THE INCREDIBLES.
