Movies.com Burns Up the Charts with Record Summer Traffic

NORTH HOLLYWOOD, Calif., Sep 20, 2006 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Before hitting up theaters to beat the summer heat, movie-goers flocked to Movies.com for up-to-the-minute information on the season's biggest blockbusters. Movies.com, a leading site for film fans offering movie reviews, trailers, local show times, and industry news and gossip, has had the strongest and fastest growth among top competitors in the entertainment-news category this summer.

Unique visitors to the site leaped 63% between May and August 2006, giving it the biggest boost among competitors including People.com, TMZ.com and MSN's Entertainment Channel (source comScore MediaMetrix). Traffic to the site during the month of August was up 82% compared to the same period in 2005. Also in August, comScore Media Metrix ranked Movies.com fifth overall -- among all Internet Web sites -- in growth of unique site visitors (35% increase vs. July 2006).
