My wife and I are considering a drive over to Mobile this weekend to check out the Disney on Ice show. Has anybody seen it and is it worth checking out?

Re: Is the Disney on Ice show worth seeing?
Which show is it? I haven't seen the 100 Years one but if it's anywhere near as good as the 3 that I have seen, it's definitely worth it. We have seen Toy Story 2, Disney Princess Classics and Jungle Adventures. All of them were amazing shows, very captivating and money very well spent.
I really wanted to see the Incredibles one, but we didn't make it when it was here. Bummer!

I have seen Disney On Ice shows in the past and they are ok. I guess if you are really into ice skating you might appreciate it more. The shows I saw were really mored geared for the younger set

kids love it. We saw one...I can't remeber what it was...maybe the little mermaid...then we saw toy story...i didn't care for the toy story one. My daughter loved them both, but she was pretty young when she saw them.

I saw Finding Nemo and it was pretty cool. I recommend seeing the ones with extremely large characters in them (Finding Nemo had Bruce/Mr Ray/Whale).
Those are always amazing props. I remember being a little kid and seeing Ursula come out and it was so freaky!

Re: Is the Disney on Ice show worth seeing?
We go to most the DOI shows that come thru San Jose.
It:
* definitely targets kids and ice show lovers
* is short (@ 2 hrs w/ 15 min intermission)
* quality of the story telling depends on the show (the complete
story ones tend to be good; some others feel unnaturally mushed together)
* skating is actually "pretty good"; don't expect olympic level though.
* done by Feld entertainment and they've really improved on the
costuming and effects over the years.

Re: Is the Disney on Ice show worth seeing?
Ok, so we saw the 100 years of magic show and it was a very good show, I do recommend it to everyone. We were a bit disapointed with the lack of any storyline as it was basically just some montages from various disney movies and it's a small world but it was still well done. I've got a video of the finale to the show which I'll be posting on youtube at some point this week. I'll link that up once it is done.
