im definately excited! its ok if you dont know stars...what kinda qualities do you think are important in the casting...what should she look like...what do u think is not so important (on other boards some felt race shouldnt be important and were pushing for an asian actress)

I really don't know of too many broadway stars. I will say that it is about time this came to broadway. Of all the Disney musicals, I think the Little Mermaid flows more like a musical than any of the others.Leave a comment:

Little Mermaid on Broadway Casting Opinions
For those who do not know...Little Mermaid is going to broadway, has been in workshop, and casting has begun. Since this is micechat...I was wondering who some true disney fans thought should play the principle roles. I would really like to hear from some disney fans who are also broadway fans because they will know realistic choices of broadway stars or broadway actors that only geeky musical theater fans might have heard of. I saw a similar message board on a broadway website but i felt they werent thinking much of the original character. I was just curious who u thought would look right and sound right or just be right for the roles. If you can not think of an exact person feel free to describe how the person should be...ex. Ariel should be played by a 18-21 to seem as close to 16 as possible and should be an up and comer...She should have this quality and that quality blah blah...you get the idea. Have fun...
o and p.s. i definately do not want kerry butler who played it on the demo and in workshops to play her...her voice and portrayal will be too harsh...
