I am all for Oogie Boogie. I saw that movie in Disney 3D over the weekend and it reminded what great music it has.
Check out my new Disney Blog here. What it lacks in quality it makes up with... Well, nothing I guess.

Quasi, your name reminded me of Claude Frollo's Hellfire song. How could I have forgotten that???

"Poor Unfortunate Souls" is a great sing-along song. I did vote for that one but I must confess a fondness for "Trust In Me", Kaa's song from "The Jungle Book".

I really like Yzma's song "Snuff out the Light"
You learn quite a bit more about Yzma in this
song Eartha Kitt sings. Thankfully it is on
                    CD for the movie's soundtrack.

Curiously, the song is not in the movie, because
the whole script for the movie was radically changed,
and the song/lyrics didn't work for the revised
Emperor's New Groove. I was really hoping that
song would be used in a sequel, or perhaps the
tv series. But unfortunately, the sequel focused on
Kronk instead of Yzma, and the tv series just rehashes
every joke in the movie ad naseaum, without any
                    new, interesting, stories/adventures.

For the Best Villain Song actually in a movie, one of Disneys
greatest animated features of the 2nd Golden Age. This movie
even became one of Broadway's Biggest hits. However, the
animated version of this song is much more effective than the
Broadway Version. Vile and evil, both describe this villain, and
yet his British accent lends a certain charm and charisma. This
King of the Villains is Scar, and curiously enough his song title is
the same as the Boy Scout motto: "Be Prepared"

Also, I do like the pop version of Cruella DeVile version on the
Mouse House DVD. This version is usually played at DL
on New Year's Eve at least a couple times.

                          Re: Favorite Disney Villain Songs

The weird thing I've noticed is that when most villains themselves have a song, they mostly just speak their way through it rather than actually belting it. The only major villain who I can think of that belts is Gaston.

It does make sense though with Disney villains having the deeper rich tones to their voice. It's not exactly the pretty little lilting of the heros / heroines / princesses.

Falling in the deep rich pipes category myself, I kind of like the idea since my career goal is to one day voice a Disney Villain... even though my Villain voice acting idol, Eleanor Audley never really had a song to any of her villains...

I find myself singing along to things like "Poor Unfortunate Souls" and "Be Prepared" to try and get comfortable bringing my voice even deeper. Sooooo bad yet so much fun.

Ditto, for all the same reasons. Well except my goal is to voice a Disney character, well just have one line in a movie...a squeak? I HAVE A GREAT KIDDIE VOICE!!
