  • James Bond Ultimate Edition DVDs

I spoiled myself before Christmas and got Volume 1 & 2 of the James Bond Ultimate Edition that came out yesterday. All I have to say is this set is awesome! Tons of extras on the 5 bonus disks in each set. I watched Diamonds are Forever yesterday and the restoration company did an excellent job on the movie, looks like it's brand new - great picture, great sound. If I get a chance to take a break from doing homework, I may watch A View To A Kill or Licence to Kill tonight.

For those of you in Canada, if you get it at Future Shop, Future Shop includes a coupon for $10 off either Volume 3 or 4 which are coming out on December 12.

Sounds like a good set, I'm jelous.

I've stopped purchasing any DVD's under the assumption that I will be switching to HD or BR disks in the next year or two. So I'll wait for the high definition versions. Right now I just netflix anything I want to see.

The Gold Box sets are amazing. Although the first set of movies are good and some of the worst IMO. The sets can be an excellent buy and a way to collect them all for sure.

I watched The Spy Who Loves Me yesterday, and Licence to Kill the day before. The sound and picture is awesome in the newly restored movies. I think volume 1 and 2 have the least popular of the Bond flicks. Volume 3 seems to have the best movies of the series. Will probably watch The World is Not Enough tonight.

I looked at them yesterday and we disappointed with the film selection. I would rather have them in chroniogical order (so I can avoid some of the later ones). Where' my Sean box set with George and Diana thrown in for good measure?

Just curious, but what did you think of "The World is Not Enough"?

Yea, I would have liked to see them in chronological also.

Some people who already have these movies are pissed off about this one too because there is NO incentive/discount for buying the upgraded versions. Even cheapo disney provides incentives for re-buying a movie you already own.

Some of the Bond discs have nothing but, say, one extra "extra" from the version that was already released.

I have Vol. I of the set that was released previously. I know these are remastered and the volumes are different, so I will probably get them.

The World Is Not Enough is OK, but what sticks out like a sore thumb is that laptop thrower.

The World is Not Enough was a horrible attempt at being politically correct. There are so many scenes that were just poorly done.

OMG, there are 4 boxes in this set. Only two of them have been released so far. I didn't realize that there were so many James Bond movies. I only own 2 of them on DVD, so I really do want this set.

As a kid, I loved Moonraker. But watching it again as an adult made me realize how cheezy that one was (and many of the other Roger Moore Bond flicks).

Hmmmm, V3 & 4 are looking a bit better. (Of course, throw OHMSS in there and I'm putty.) If I got these sets, I'd take them OUT of their stupid oxes and put them on the shelf in chrono order. So there.
