  • Disney entertainment designer to partner with Richard Branson in Vegas hotel?

Don Dorsey, a guy who was partly responsible for the Electrical Parade, Fantasmic, and various incarnations of IllumiNations (and maybe a new incarnation according to WDW sites) among other things was mentioned today in the local paper as being involved in a potential offer with Richard Branson regarding the old Sahara hotel on the far north end of the Strip.

From the latest Norm rumor-mill column comes this:

Reached Sunday, Las Vegas deal-maker Jack Wishna confirmed that he has been working on an acquisition deal involving the Sahara, Virgin honcho Branson and Disney designer Don Dorsey.

There have been meetings, Wishna said, "but no formal deal is in place for a Branson-Dorsey deal."
Frankly, I don't know what in the world to make of that, but there it is.
