  • Buena Vista Games...

    Hey guys...

Our favorite game unit has unvaled their list of titels for the year... Yes, it is the daily dose of synergy to reap more cash out of everyone...

Some of the offerings seem interesting... Two Nightmare Before Christmas titles, Chicken Little, and the Narnia title are items people have been anticpating

But what really gets me is this....

Also showcased will be additions to BVG's highly successful handheld games business with new titles for the '"tween" market, including games based on the upcoming theatrical release "Herbie: Fully Loaded," and Disney Channel properties "Lizzie McGuire," "Kim Possible," "That's So Raven" and "The Proud Family."
Here are some of the discriptions...

Herbie: Fully Loaded -- Based on Walt Disney Pictures' upcoming feature film "Herbie: Fully Loaded," starring Lindsay Lohan, the action-packed video game will thrust players into the high-octane world of auto racing. The game offers fans a chance to slip behind the wheel of one of the world's most beloved cars, Herbie, and compete in a 3D stock car race. Herbie: Fully Loaded for Game Boy Advance is being developed by Climax Group, Inc. and will be available this summer.

Lizzie McGuire 3: Homecoming Havoc -- Everybody's favorite girl-next-door is back in a new micro-arcade game that calls for quick reflexes. With Homecoming rapidly approaching, Lizzie is determined to be crowned Homecoming Queen. Of course, Lizzie's archrival Kate wants the crown too. In order to win the affection of the student body and become popular enough to become Homecoming Queen, Lizzie will need to complete over 100 different speed challenges, plus compete in dance-offs with Kate to win the title. Players will build friendships to get past obstacles and gain popularity points on the way to the homecoming dance. Lizzie McGuire 3 will be available for Game Boy Advance this summer.

That's So Raven 2: Supernatural Style -- Raven is back in an all-new adventure in which her psychic ability gets her into some wacky predicaments. It will take the help of her friends and family -- Chelsea, Devon, Eddie, Cory and Dad -- to bail her out. This time, Raven's on her way to the season's premiere fashion show, but is diverted in a series of hilarious escapades that have her running from school to the mall, off to the zoo, a science fiction convention and a concert. Along the way, she needs to collect accessories to complete her fashion line. It will take clever disguises and insightful premonitions to hit the runway in time! Raven 2 will be available for Game Boy Advance this summer.

BVG will also showcase upcoming fall 2005 titles including Disney's The Proud Family for Game Boy Advance, Kim Possible: Kimmunicator for Nintendo DS, Lizzie McGuire & That's So Raven game for Nintendo DS, Cinderella's Dollhouse of Dreams for PC, and Cinderella: Magical Dreams for Game Boy Advance.
    Wow, I feel so... underwhelmed...

Honestly, Disney games have never really done well. Most gamers avoid them like the plague because the overwhelmingly suck. The only game to really break that was Kingdom Hearts, and that's dut LARGELY to the the fact that it was co-produced by Sqaure-soft...

Narnia looks promising, and so does Nightmare, but all in all, Buena Vista has a long way to go before becoming a respectful game developer. And making cheap, low quality, stupid games like Lizzie McGuire isn't going to help...

Like so many other facets of today's Disney Corp., efforts seem half-assed and quick to make a buck over quality, and frankly, I'm not surprised...

Hey... don't forget about Magical Racing Tour!

I still think that's one of the best kart racing titles made... of course, maybe it was just the WDW fanboy in me speaking.

This is sort of my point...

They aren't just focusing on Tweens... They are focusing on Tween Girls... Tween Girls don't think these games are cool... Only geeks play games... so you might as well build games that the whole family will enjoy...

This unit is a major under acheiver...

Talk about a waste of cash...

I always thought if Disney came up with a Mario Party type game with the Disney Characters it would do well. But you have to do it good, and do it right.

I can't see me even remotely interested about any of these titles.

I think gaming is WAY more mainstream than the connotation gives. Everyone's perception of videogaming is nerdy or geeky, but in actuality, it's just entertainment. Sure at the base of it all, you do have the geeky guys, but I haven't met anyone in my age bracket that hasn't played a videogame in the past year...

But girls are barely in the videogame market at all, and to market to a specific age bracket of girls? Financial Disaster.

                    I'm just waiting for KH2.
Kingdom Hearts was probably the best Disney co-produced game ever made to date.

I agree- I have been waiting for the sequel for a loooong time. There is a semi-sequel out for Game Boy Advance, came out around Christmas. Someone correct me if I am wrong, but doesn't beating the game unlock a preview of the sequel? We never got around to beating the last level.

I agree with you on that. KH1 really had a wonderful splash of Disney and FF in it. It made for great game play. From the screenshots of KH2, the game play looks great as do the graphics. The new storyline has incoporated Mulan.

The confirmed date from E3 2005 is that KH2 will be released in Winter 2005.

Okay okay okay! Anybody want info on Kingdom hearts?!

Drama-Queen-You're somewhat right, while beating the first Kingdom Hearts got you a cruddy "teaser" for KH2, the little teaser that you get after beating the gameboy game 100% is even more mystifying.

                              The kid with the two keyblades from the KH2 trailer is finally unmasked! and boy, does he look alot like a lovechild of Cloud and Sora O_o;

Also, KH2 will come out about Christmas time, and have two playable teams (Most likely the new blonde boy with Mickey and Riku) and the Organization will make a comeback (and considering we know more about Larxene, Vexen, and Marluxia than any of the Disney villians combined, it's safe to say that Disney and Square will be cheep and bring them back)

New worlds include Mulan, the underworld of Hercules, Christmas Town, and possibly Prydain

And now a gift to some of you!

Summarization of the gameboy game for those who have a PS2 but no gameboy...

                              Sora: Look! A Castle!

Donald: Lets be dumb and go in uninvited!

                              *they go in*

Marluxia: (AKA the gay guy): MWAHAHAHA!!! You've fallen into my trap! Now the only way to get out is by getting to the top!

                              Goofy: o.o gawrsh.....

(about fifteen hours later and retracing your steps)

                              Larxene: Ha! Hello Sora!

Sora: Who the heck are you!?

Larxene: That's not important! Lets just fight for no reason!

(about five hours later and meeting more cool characters)

Sora: EVERYTHING I LEARNED IN THIS CASTLE WAS A LIE?!

Larxene and Vexen: DEAL WITH IT!!! *die*

Sora: Oh... crap... *looks to Marluxia* I guess we have to go through you right?

                              Marluxia: ... *shrugs*

(About a 30 minute fight later)

Sora: So the only way I can restore all of my real memories is by sleeping for two years?!

                              Namine: Yeah....

                              Sora: Well that sucks

                              THE END

it's not THAT horrible plot wise... but... you get the point
