  • Non-Holiday Films fit for the Holidays!

There are a handful of films I love to re-watch during the Holidays - that give me that special warm and fuzzy feeling - but don't directly revolve around a Christmas or Holiday theme. A few of these:

    Walt Disney's Pollyanna
    The Sound of Music
    Rodgers & Hammerstein's Cinderella (1965 version)
    The Wizard of Oz
    Walt Disney's Mary Poppins
Walt Disney's Lady and the Tramp
    Meet Me in St. Louis

    Yours?

Yup the feel good films at my house involve things that go boom and battles.

Yeah, The Die Hard series is always on christmas eve, isn't it? Some how, I don't picture it as a "feel good film" though... It is why I excluded RENT... Not that it doesn't make me feel good mind you... I just think of it as a christmas film, so I don't list it...

Other boarder line films I guess would be...

To Kill a Mocking Bird (its as good a film as It's a Wonderful Life, and they remind me of eachother in a strange way... I don't know...)

Absent Minded Professor seems christmas like too come to think of it... And the Strongest Man in the World... (Nuthin like breakfast cerial to pump those bicepts...)

                          Love Actually
                          Bridget Jones Diary
                          Little Women

And we always watch the Pride & Prejudice (Colin Firth BBC one) series around the holidays. Usually more than once.

I'd say Edward Scissorhands qualifies as a Christmas movie. So does Gremlins.
