      Yep, that's a puzzler.

I'm really a little amused to realize I've only seen about 6 of the movies on this list. I knew my taste in movies ran toward the absurdly simple-minded, but I didn't realize just how bad it was.

But Goodfellas, E.T., and Pulp Fiction all deserve to be on the list.

Okay I actually counted and I've seen 9 of those movies! Sheesh, guess I need to go out and rent some of those.

Not one of the movies I consider to be my favorites were on the list.
        Oh Well!

          Um, Drunken Master 2?

And Pinnocchio is IMO the WORST Disney animated film- there are much better ones than that- Beauty and the Beast?

Who put this list together and what were they drinking?

I've been a film fan all my life and really dispute that list. I counted and have seen 67 of those listed, many of them numerous times.

OKKKKKKKKKKKK we are gonna let Richard Corliss and Richard Schickel- two critic retained my Time, as the two men who define the 100 best films?

This is why I enjoyed the AFI list- it was built and designed by the American Film Institute and was the list was a product of the best of the best not two subjective opinions.

As I read it, these two basically created a story, and now they want people to talk about it.
                Sorry, not interested.

Well I've seen 13 of them, but I haven't heard of most of them...I dont trust these top one hundred lists, i like the Internet Movie Database's list of the top 250, because its based on user votes. http://imdb.com/chart/top

It is an Odd list for sure. Glad to see the Godfather 1&2, Dr. Strangelove, and oddly enough I think I see why Pinocchio was picked (When you wish upon a star)

But the list is said to be designed to induce discussion,

Of the Disney Movies, I feel there are 2, maybe even 3, places you can devide the animated classics by time. you have the original classics, that Walt picked and over saw, a kind of grey area, and then the modern classics that started with The little Mermaid.

From area 1, I would have to pick Snow White, got it all started... with the "What was Walt Disney on when he created...?" catagory award going to 'Fantasia.'

                    Area 2- Rescuers.

Area 3 -toss up,-- Beauty and the Beast, Lion King.

Yes the Shawshank Redemption should be on the list! Great film

Also strange is having Barry Lyndon (1975) on the list over 2001:A Space Odyssey

                          WHO MADE UP THIS LIST?????

Thats not the right list. The Big Lebowski should be number 1.
