Scubapro UWATEC and Miramax Films Partner on Deep Blue; Opens June 3, 2005

EL CAJON, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 27, 2005--Miramax Films is proud to partner with Scubapro UWATEC(R) on the acclaimed documentary Deep Blue. The partnership will include a grand prize giveaway of a full set of Scubapro UWATEC(R) scuba equipment, open-water certification classes and an exclusive screening of the film for the winner and ten of their friends.

"We are delighted to be working with Joe and John Stella of Scubapro UWATEC" says Gary Faber, SVP of Marketing at Miramax Films. "Most of the Deep Blue crew, including the filmmakers, used Scubapro UWATEC(R) products during the shoot, so it was a natural choice."

Scubapro UWATEC(R) is proud to be part of the DEEP BLUE movie promotion, "Collectively the more people we expose to the underwater environment, the more urgency there is learn about the oceans and to protect them," said Joe Stella, Group Vice President-Diving for Johnson Outdoors.

DEEP BLUE is an innovative motion picture experience that takes audiences on an epic, emotion-filled voyage through the last great frontier on earth: the ocean. Diving into the unexplored liquid space that exists just beneath the surface of our planet, DEEP BLUE explores awesome realms where humans, and especially cameras, have rarely dared to go: darting with lightning speed through fierce schools of sharks, riding over stormy waves with massive killer whales, fighting for survival with families of polar bears and seals, and even plunging into pitch-black chasms that are home to wild, alien-like creatures so rare they have never been seen before on film. Recounting the amazing stories of wildlife in its untouched state to the majestic orchestral score by acclaimed composer George Fenton, the result is a visual and musical event that viscerally evokes the wonder, power and drama of the deep blue sea.

DEEP BLUE is narrated by popular star, award-winning actor and passionate environmentalist Pierce Brosnan, and features a score that matches the grandeur and wildness of the oceanic world written by five-time Academy Award nominee George Fenton.
