On news of record revenue results, Legoland California has announced an expansion plan that would include $6 million in capital investment in 2005.

In 2004, attendance was up almost 10% to 1.42 million guests and revenue was up more than 11% to make 2004 the best year in the Carlsbad, Calif., amusement park's six-year history, the park said on Thursday. Exact figured were not released.

"These results are phenomenal. We are thrilled with Legoland California's performance in terms of attendance, revenue and guest satisfaction," John Jakobsen, president and general manager, said in a statement "2004 was a landmark year for the park as we opened five new attractions to celebrate our fifth birthday.
