ABC experiments with "Lost" time slot
    Micechat News Team - 2/18/07

Today it was announced that popular TV series "Lost" will have a rebroadcast of last week's episode on Wednesday 9 pm in front of a new episode in it's normal 10 pm slot. ABC has been under a lot of criticism for moving the series to 10 pm midweek, in an effort to protect the series from competition with shows like "American Idol" on Fox. It is unknown if this is a permanent change.

Last week it was reported that there was a remarkable drop off in viewership. "Lost," along with "Grey's Anatomy" and "Desperate Housewives," is accredited for saving the network three years ago.

For more information on this week's schedule please visit the ABC website.

I like the rebroadcasting of the previous week's episode. I will remain a hooked fan.

I liked it better when it was on 9-10. Now I have to stay up until 11. I enjoy my sleep!

      My best score ever!

I think that is the question ABC is trying to figgure out, will you view last week's ephisode in 9-10 slot and skip the new ephisode because it is too late?

        Or is it something else...

How about some rebroadcasts on ABC Family?

I've only seen one episode, and I didn't have the patience for it. And, I've noticed many other people are complaining about the series not advancing the plot or explaining anything, so I'm sure that that situation is a factor.

I'm surprised audiences have exhibited as much patience with the series as they have, so far.

I don't see how a real fan could wait a whole week just to gain an hours sleep. Unless, you were a very sleepy fan.

^ Not sure if it was really them listening to the viewers, or just the ratings and slipping $'s.

Rebroadcasting isn't going to prove anything one way or another. If you wait that extra week, you'll hear all about it at the water cooler anyway, so the ratings will be low for the rebroadcast as well.

They really should just change it back to 9. It currently conflicts with Medium on NBC. I would think that the a very similar demographic is interested in that show. And Medium is more instant gratification.
"But every night, when it gets dark
                  and the stars come out,
I'll look up on her behalf.
I'll look up in the sky and think of you."

I hate Lost being on at 10. We record Lost, CSI:NY, and Medium. Now with Lost being on, I don't get Medium. I need to hit their web page and see if they rebroadcast Medium but I just don't have an hour block to watch a show. TiVo waits for me.

I may have to drop Lost.

We HATE it being on at 10. My older two kids watch it the next day online with me. My husband watches it by himself sometime online the next day or two.

Neither he or the kids can stay up til 11. He falls asleep like clockwork at 10 p.m. every night, no matter how much he loves Lost.

Bah. It's totally ruined it for us.

For us too. It was mine and my oldest son's "thing" to watch it together every week but 11pm is just too late for him to stay up. We watch it the next day together. I hate it at 10
