  • 'A Place Where Dreams Come True' - Not Disney, instead a Porno Company

FYI, to the British, a "Blue Film" is a X rated film

    Disney beaten by porn producer

Entertainment giant Disney has been forced to back down over its 'dreams come true' slogan - as it's already used by a British porn producer.

45-year-old Michael Wightman from Newcastle, has trademarked 'A Place Where Dreams Come True' for his mobile phone blue film company.

Disney also used the slogun to promote their theme parks until its lawyers backed down after a legal challenge.

Mr Wightman said "It's a David v Goliath victory."

Disney will now use 'The place where dreams come true'.

Hold the phone! Disney wasn't familiar with the trademarked slogan for this film company?

The definite article works better anyway. But, I still think that the slogan is apt to be misinterpreted in a way that is contrary to the company's ends.

I'm wondering about the validity of the article. No company name given that uses this slogan, the only thing that a search turns up are links to this article and a translation of this article on somebody else's website. Does 2 links in this age where everybody is interested in some juicy Disney story really make a valid article?

Re: 'A Place Where Dreams Come True' - Not Disney, instead a Porno Company

That's strange ... I haven't seen "A Place Where Dreams Come True" or "The Place Where Dreams Come True" used on any promotional materials, only "Where Dreams Come True." I've only seen them call Disneyland or Walt Disney World "the place where dreams come true" in press releases, etc and I've heard them say things like "Thank you for visiting Disneyland - the place where dreams come true" on the Mickey & Friends tram, on the Monorail, and in the announcements when they're announcing the arrival of the Parade of Dreams Grand Marshalls.

"The Place Where Dreams Come True" being used in press releases and in interivews makes more sense anyway, "A Place..." just makes it seem like Disney is only one of many places where dreams come true - and if that were the case, then there'd be no reason to visit a "DisneyPark."

I dont know, this whole WhereSpeak and re-branding initiative is a waste of time and resources in my opinion, not to mention it lacks any heart, so I guess either way I really don't care.

                  I'm cracking up over this

And I think the whole WhereSpeak initiative is a waste of time as well and think it's terribly misguided. I think it's more of a direct result of them naming everything for park entertainment with the word "Dream" in it than people valueing it as the place where dreams come true. If you ask someone where the happiest/most magical place on earth is, they're going to tell you disneyland or disneyworld. If you ask someone "Where do dreams come true?" they may just as easily say las vegas or a strip club :P

So I read this and, to find out more, I googled "A Place Where Dreams Come True" in quotes. And the first place Google brought me was ....
