If we were still in the golden days of Hollywood, when stars were tied to particular studios, Lindsay Lohan would be a Disney contract player. She's done three movies, including Herbie: Fully Loaded, with the notoriously wholesome home of Mickey, Minnie and Donald. And you have to wonder - given the tabloid headlines that bounce from speculation about surgery, anorexia and her partying ways - how comfortable the studio feels with its leading lady.

These days, of course, Disney makes lots of grown-up films via its companies Hollywood Pictures and Touchstone Pictures. Tougher films such as The Rock and Armageddon were released under those labels. It has always liked to reserve the Disney brand name for its animated features and family-oriented live action films.

The three Lohan films that carry the Disney brand are The Parent Trap, Freaky Friday and, now, Herbie: Fully Loaded. We're talking here about a brand that's home to Snow White - a name that says about all there is to say about the ideal Disney heroes and heroines - and to Peter Pan and Tinkerbell.
