Children's Place to Remodel 234 Disney Stores

After over four months of negotiations, The Children's Place has reached an agreement with Disney to refurbish 234 of its Disney Store locations by 2011 and open at least 18 "new-look" stores. Children's Place has also agreed to "refresh" 165 Disney Stores by mid 2008.

Disney had claimed that declining standards at Disney Stores were in violation of their licensing agreement with Children's Place. Under the new agreement, Disney can require Children's Place to pay an $18 million penalty for three or more violations and can cancel the agreement for five or more violations.

We could have gotten rid of Eisner and Pressler a LOT sooner!

    hahahahha

Hope the New look is A LOT better than their
Emergency room look, as there is a new store
that is suppose to open less than a mile from
    where I live.

The company said it may soon acquire $175 million in charges associated with a license dispute with The Walt Disney Co. Although negotiations about the conflict are happening, Disney has accused the company of violating the licensing agreement by not renovating and maintaining stores, among other things. The $175 million would be put towards renovation and maintenance to Disney Stores over the next five years.
