  • Spin Magazine - Top 100 Albums in the last 20 years

Overall I think this is a pretty good list. There isn't anything on this list I can really argue with. I do think it's nice that Afghan Whigs and The Meat Puppets made the list, and deservedly so.

    Some GLARING omissions though:

    U2 - The Joshua Tree
Metallica - And Justice for All or Black Album
    No Dave Matthews Band albums
Nine Inch Nails - Pretty Hate Machine

Also I felt that Nirvana In Utero was a little low on the list, and Nevermind was too high.

Other than that though, even though it's Spin, I have to admit a pretty good list.

          Red Hot Chili Peppers

This is a damn good list! Yeah stuff is missing, but overall it is pretty complete. Every time I said "HEY where's so and so" I realized the records were relased over 20 years ago (X, Blasters, etc). Made me feel old - and miss the late 70's/early 80's.

Of course, I didn't see The Trifids: Born Sandy Devotional on there.

I'm actually shocked Duran Duran's 1993 self-titled (aka The Wedding Album) is not on that list. That was a huge comeback album for them. Depeche Mode's "Violator", Def Leppard's "Hysteria" and The Cure's "Disintergration" should be on some sort of list somewhere too.

                  -At The Drive-In
                  -Basement Jaxx
                  -The Chemical Brothers
                  -Dinosaur Jr.
                  -The Pixies
                  -Beastie Boys
                  -The White Stripes

                  rock, rock, on indeed!

But The Yeah Yeah Yeahs?!!!! What the heck, I think they're SO overrated.

Ok, I was almost offended by the lack of Green Day, but I found Dookie so I don't have to go tie some people at Spin to their chairs and force them to listen to all Green Day, all the time. Kerplunk was a better album, but I guess Dookie had more hits on it. Just my opinion. Wish they had Foo Fighters up there. Ecstatic to see le tigre and the Pogues! I'm so tired of the White Stripes, though...(sigh).
The King is back and he's ready to kick some tail. Do not mess with a mouse in black.
