  • Busch Gardens beats out Disney - Tampa Bay Business Journal, 6/24/05

Note: This article is based on an advanced copy of the Forbes list, and is not yet available.

The "world's best amusement park" rankings for 2005 are out and Busch Gardens is rated as the second best in the world, according to a Forbes survey.

Park giant Disney had none of its Florida attractions on the list, although its California-based Disneyland ranked third.

The parks on Forbes' list have unique attractions or historic sites; they aren't necessarily the ones with the most rides or the highest annual profits.

Busch Gardens in Tampa opened its new dive coaster SheiKra last month amid much fanfare and park officials say it performed as expected (park code for boosting attendance). Busch Gardens closely guards its attendance and financial numbers.
