The original Tigger. The recent spur of Disney related deaths is really putting damper on this Disneyland 50th season for me.

Oooooooooooooooooooooooooohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. That is sad. My kids are sad too.... Wow. Getting old bites. :botox:
I give myself very good advice, but I very seldom follow it.
That explains the trouble that I'm always in...

Tigger is a definite fan favorite, including my own. Jim Cummings does a good job(perhaps not as good as Cory Burton doing Paul Frees) but Winchell as Tigger always had a certain rasp in the voice that was special.

This marks 2 passed tigers between may 5th and july 17th that have had memorable impacts on Disney and I'd even wanted to be there on the 50th :/

Does anyone happen to know if they used Winchell or Cummings for Tigger in Remember? It sounds like it's just from the ride and I know Cummings did the Disneyland ride's tigger but Winchell did Disneyworld's. We have the "right this way hoohoohoohoo" part but not the "follow the bouncing tigger." They probably re-recorded it though.

          Good morning, son
          In twenty years from now
Maybe we'll both sit down and have a few beers
And I can tell you 'bout today
And how I picked you up and everything changed
          It was pain
          Sunny days and rain
I knew you'd feel the same things...

Just linking to the news thread on this.

It is quite sad. Another Disney voice now gone.

Most of you are too young to remeber Paul in his earlier days. I grew up with his early shows and rember Jerry and Knucklehead fondly. He brought a lot of joy to my young life. Paul was increddible. He was one of the first inventors of an artifcial heart.

Let's not forget his role as the 'original' Zummi Gummi from the Gummi Bears. Jim Cummings took over in the early 90's. R.I.P. Mr. Winchell

As someone put on another board, it's a bad time to be a voice of a cartoon Tiger.

Sad news, but he had a long and full life that we should be celebrating.
                      Here's to Mr. Winchell!

OMG... I'm going to sound really retarded, but I thought he had died years ago!

And I call myself a Tigger fan...

:: hangs head in shame ::

And don't forget he did the voice of Boomer the woodpecker in The Fox & the Hound (my all-time fave Disney film).

This is sad news. I heard it on the radio today. But now he can be bouncing forever in the big Acre Wood in the sky! Rest in peace! You will be missed.

Yes! In fact, I can still remember the theme song to the Jerry Mahoney show, which has got to be at least 40 years ago...
