  • Harry Potter poster with the wrong date.

I saw this poster the other day at the movie theater. It says "07.13.07" but the movie is being released this Wednesday the 11th! Isn't that weird?

There seems to be a lot of confusion about the release date of the newest HP film! I've seen some ads that say it'll be the 11th, others that say the 12th, and still others that say the 13th. I'm not sure what to believe!

It was supposed to be released on the 13th, but they moved it up.

I figured that was probably the case. It's just weird that the posters went out with the old date. The one I posted here is from Fandango. You can buy tickets for shows beginning at midnight Tuesday. So, the 11th is the release date.

I work at the local theater so I can officially say that Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix releases on the 11th.

For the record...I have already seen the film and it is AWESOME! The best one so far.

There are no accidents when it comes to multi-million dollar franchises.
"Transformers" was originally set to open July 4, in keeping with the tradition of a five-day holiday opening. But when Warners moved "Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix" from July 13 to July 11, Par moved up the "Transformers" date to July 3. Then came the idea of beginning the movie's run on Monday evening to build buzz.

But, leaving the original date on the posters...that was an accident.

Well, no, not really, since I'm sure the posters were made and hung way before they decided to move the movie release up by two days.
It's actually "Cars Land", not "Carsland".

For instance, the poster in my local theater has been up since Januaryish. It's only been within the last month or so that the release date was moved to the 11th.

It's costly to take down the posters and make new ones with the new date.

                    It's not a mistake. It's a budget decision.

If I remember correctly, POTC 3 did the exact same thing. The "At World's End" posters (even the one hanging in Innoventions. I have a picture of it) said May 25. Even the Disney website was advertising May 25. But the movie came out a couple days earlier.....May 23. Or was it the 24th? LOL, well I do remember it started before May 25. :o)

Well, you will be able to see the movie on 7/13, so it's not all that inaccurate.
It's an old poster, and your movie house did not get or hang the most recent poster.
At least it's not the poster with enhanced "Hermiones," IYKWIM.
