  • Ub Iwerks - Biography Channel

Did anyone see this last night?
I only saw part of it but I thought it was great! It must have been an old show though because John Lasetter and Roy Disney looked a lot younger to me.
I liked how they gave so much credit to what he did and I also liked how humble he was. He said something like, "Creating Mickey Mouse is nothing, it's what Walt did with him that made everything work." Don't quote me on that but it was something like that.

I still get choked up anytime I hear a story from anyone that was close to Walt talk about the day he died. They mentioned that the day he died, the studio's secretary announced it over the intercom. The whole studio left and a few of the higher ups stayed. Ub said, "That's the end of an era."

Does anybody remember when The Biography Channel did only Biographies?

Now it's A&E Deuce or something.

They actually played it twice last night so you might get lucky if you check tonight.
I'm not too sure about it coming out on DVD though. It looked like it was filmed a few years back and they're just re-running it. That would be nice though!

I looked it up if it's on DVD. It just says "SORRY, we have no matches for Ub Iwerks ."

Hopefully, it will come on again. Sounds awesome.

Was this the same "The Hand Behind The Mouse" Iwerks documentary that's been airing on the Ovation channel that was mentioned here back on July 3rd in this thread:

I think so. I am really upset I didn't set my TiVo to grab the show. I had a 30 hour work shift, got home, and just crashed.

Maybe I'm totally wrong on the channel................
I might be mixing it with the Harry Potter Secrets show. That might have been the one one Biography channel actually.

Yeah, I didn't see it schedule on the Biography Channel while looking it up. It was all about Lady Bird Johnson for Biography. I have nevered heard of "ovation channel", though. I'm sure Comcast doesn't have that one too. If only I could get Directv.
