Anyway, who is your favorite male movie star and female movie star and why?

Me? Cary Grant: he was dashing and debonaire yet never minded looking the part of the clown.

Maureen O'Hara: the queen of Technicolor with that gorgeous red hair- just an all around beautiful woman.

I don't really follow any actor or actresses. I watch a movie more for story and I care more about who is directing it. My favorite directors include Stanley Kubrick, Hayao Miyazaki, John Lasseter, Brad Bird, Quentin Tarantino, and Peter Jackson.

Ewan McAGregor and Nicole Kidman come to mind. (My favorite resent movie is Moulin Rouge.)

I pick movies based on what looks good and who directed it. There are actors and actresses I don't like and movies I'll avoid if they're in them. But Elijah Wood is the only actor where I'll see the movie just because it has Elijah Wood. And for the record I've loved him since Radio Flyer, not LOTR.

I'd go along with most of those on the "classic" lists...and here are two of my favorites I didn't see listed...Walter Matthau, Henry Fonda and Jack Lemmon.

From the current era, can't think of a more versatile guy than Tom Hanks.
