I like all of those, but the original Star Wars trilogy wins, followed by Back to the Future. Also love the Godfather trilogy if you ignore the last one.com Pirates and Lotr are also great

And yes, the first trilogy is my favorite, followed by Lord of the Rings.

I'm so, happy someone said something. I was surprised too with no Star Wars on the list. Star Wars was on the top of my mind before entering this thread.

Pirates is weak compared to the big boys... Star Wars... Indy... LoTR... BTTF...

StarWars EP IV-VI has got to be the best... followed by LoTR for story/awe factor. Then Indy followed by BTTF.

Rush hour is on the list??? The third isn't out yet. How about:
                        The Matrix Trilogy
                        The X-Men Trilogy
                        Austin Powers Trilogy
                        The Terminator Trilogy
                        Spiderman Trilogy
                        Shrek Trilogy
                        Mission Impossible Trilogy
                        etc...

I'll go with Star Wars Original trilogy, Indiana Jones, Pirates, Jurassic Park, Star Wars prequel trilogy.

                            Re: What's your favorite trilogy?

If the OP can't be bothered to even list the original Star Wars trilogy, I can't be bothered to vote.

That said, my favorites would be the original Star Wars trilogy, the Back to the Future trilogy, the Indiana Jones trilogy, and the Pirates of the Caribbean films (which is only a trilogy so far).

Liked the Lord of the Rings trilogy quite nicely but wasn't that wild about it. Never saw the Rush Hour movies. Liked the first couple of Jurassic Park movies but never bothered with the third, and wasn't that enthralled with any of them that much as it was.

However, I think that too much is made of trilogies these days. Studios love them because it can mean virtually guaranteed success at the box office. Other than singular films that stand alone (like E.T The Extra Terrestrial) I prefer a series of films, like the James Bond 007 series or the Star Trek movies. Limiting a story franchise to just 3 films isn't my favorite idea. To me, the POTC franchise could go on almost forever (as long as the story quality stays high).

Back to the future is such a great trilogy I dont think I will ever tire of it.
