I'm sooo excited for this. Musicals are the best and Tim Burton is the best. Combined it truly is the bestest.

Great poster - really creepy - does it look like the movie is going to be rated R? Has anybody heard anything about it?

Knowing Tim Burton's work it most likely will be on the dark creepy side and I believe Sweeney Todd is a murderer. I'm not sure about the rating.

                    Here is a little tease

Based on the 19th century legend of Sweeney Todd and the hit Broadway musical with music and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim, Sweeney Todd a.k.a Benjamin Barker returns to London after being sent away by Judge Turpin with the help of a sailor, Anthony Hope. He opens a barber shop above Mrs. Lovett's Meat Pie Shop were she sells "the worst pies in London." With the help of Mrs. Lovett, Todd tries to rid of all the people who have ever done him wrong and hopes to be reunited with his daughter, Joanna, who is now Judge Turpin's ward.

I know the story - I have seen the musical - I'm just curious if they are going to show the blood and gore and what Burton's version is going to be.

Perhaps a thread merge is in order, thanks!

I haven't seen the musical and I didn't know anything about the storyline until recently.

Sorry, I don't know too much about the blood and gore.

Well thanks anyway - I can assume that it won't be a musical and will be ala Sleepy Hollow.

Johnny will be singing in the movie and I think it will have ala Sleepy Hollow taste to it.
