  • Hollywood Celebrates Disneyland's 50th Anniversary - PRNewswire 7/13/05

Press release from PRNewswire available at biz.yahoo.com - 7/13/05
    Hollywood Celebrates Disneyland's 50th Anniversary
Hollywood is celebrating the Happiest Place on Earth. Today in Tinsel Town, Disneyland was honored with the first-ever Award of Excellence by the Hollywood Historic Trust and Johnny Grant, Honorary Mayor of Hollywood. The ceremony took place next to the El Capitan theatre. Michael Eisner, chief executive officer of The Walt Disney Company and Robert Iger, CEO-elect and president of The Walt Disney Company accepted the award along with Mickey Mouse and all his pals.

And last night in Santa Monica, it was the Fred Segal store and celebrities paying homage to what has been referred to as Hollywood's playground. Celebrities including Vince Vaughn, Luke Wilson, Jeremy Piven, Hillary Duff, Jason Alexander, Michelle Trachtenberg and Tori Spelling were on hand to be the first to see the new vintage Disney apparel -- it's a blend of classic nostalgia and "of the moment" style said designer Jackie Brander. It's a limited edition line and will be available July 19 at The World of Disney store located in the Downtown Disney district at Disneyland Resort in Anaheim and at Fred Segal Fun in Santa Monica.
    My finger points.
