Hmm they've identified Hawaii, then Mexico and the Caribbean, as places where DCV members use points at nonDisney resorts.

So expect Mexico and Yo Ho, Yo Ho as the next two destinations.

I would go to Hawaii, but I would ever go back to Mexico again. Maybe where Yo Ho Yo Ho is.

I have always wondered why Disney didn't build one of these in Las Vegas. Then I realized maybe ten years ago they might have. But now the way things are going, I don't think they will end up in Vegas. With convergances like TI and projects such as Encore, Plant Hollywood, Palms, and City Center, Disney doesn't have any chance there anymore.

And with such an emphasis on Asia, I smell a Disney Cruise Line tie in. The resort is projected to open around 2011 and that is the time the first of the two new ships will be delivered. I can imagine departures from LA, Hawaii, or Japan. Exciting to imagine what itineraries they will come up.

Hmm ... I seem to recall someone mentioning this months ago ... the same spirit who told all the Doubting Tims that DCL was doubling in size too.

It's almost like he actually knows what's going on inside Disney ...

Disney Hawaii Resort

Apologies if this the wrong place for this (Feel free to move).

Disney plans to build a family resort in Hawaii, but it will not be a Pacific Island Disneyland.

The company is planning to turn 21 acres of ocean front property on the island of Oahu into an 800-room luxury hotel complex.

Disney has several resorts near its theme parks in Florida and California but has never built a resort that will stand on its own.

Disney spent $144m to buy the land and the resort is expected to open in 2011.

"This resort hotel will give our guests another way to visit an exciting part of the world with a brand they trust," said Jay Rasulo, chairman of Walt Disney Parks & Resorts.

Mr Rasulo said that Hawaii was one of the most requested destinations by the 350,000 members of its Vacation Club.

Disney Resorts operates 38 resort hotels with more than 35,000 hotel rooms worldwide.
