    Stanton explains the story of Wall E

    A short video of Andrew Stanton giving us the basic plot along with some new video clips and images from Pixar's upcoming feature, Wall-E.

    Wall-E is written and directed by Pixar's own Andrew Stanton, who directed A Bug's Life and Finding Nemo. The film will hit theaters everywhere next June 27th, 2008.
    What if mankind had to leave Earth, and somebody forgot to turn the last robot off?
    After hundreds of lonely years of doing what he was built for, WALL-E (short for Waste Allocation Load Lifter Earth-Class) discovers a new purpose in life (besides collecting knick-knacks) when he meets a sleek search robot named EVE. EVE comes to realize that WALL-E has inadvertently stumbled upon the key to the planet's future, and races back to space to report her findings to the humans (who have been eagerly awaiting word that it is safe to return home). Meanwhile, WALL-E chases EVE across the galaxy and sets into motion one of the most exciting and imaginative comedy adventures ever brought to the big screen.
    Joining WALL-E on his fantastic journey across a universe of never-before-imagined visions of the future, is a hilarious cast of characters including a pet cockroach, and a heroic team of malfunctioning misfit robots.

    This week has nearly been a Wall-E overload, but hopefully it's enough emphasis to have you already writing June 27th down on your calendar next summer.     UPDATE: Disney has asked that this video be removed, hopefully some of you got to see it.

    I did. I can tell you that I already love the score and can't wait to hear it. Besides that, the story is very compelling and interesting. It reminds me of Nemo. I love Pixar movies and think they only get better. Ratatouille is my favorite. I think is unfair when people compare it to Finding Nemo. Their animation and skill only get better with each film.

      I didn't see the video, but I'm assuming it's from Comic-con. Aerinpegadrack and I were at the Disney / Pixar panel when Stanton basically talked for a good 30 minutes about the film and it was by far the highlight of the convention.

      I can't wait for Wall*E!

        I think you are right, Sadako.

        I did not attend Comic Con this year but I have read that it was, indeed, the same video.

        From what I have heard about Wall-E regarding the approach, story, and animation, I have extremely high hopes for this film.

        Can't wait!

        I agree with DisneyMickey, with every new film Pixar seems to turn it up a notch. Try watching Ratatouille right after Toy Story and you can see a HUGE difference in the quality and detail of the animation.

          This movie sounds really good, I love the fact that pretty much none of the characters will speak, and its almost completely dependent on the magic of Pixar and its animation...only they could enter an endeavor like this...
          You can't talk S*** unless your gonna do something about it...

            I agree the story sounds very "compelling and interesting" I am especially interested to see how they will pull off the scenes without dialogue .. Obviously they will have to rely heavily on the music and the animation to express any "emotion" he may be feeling as he makes his discoveries.
