    HBO going to Disney land

Pacts for 100 titles starting in '09

HBO has acquired an extensive feature film library package from Disney-ABC Domestic Television that includes Touchstone Pictures' "Pearl Harbor," Hollywood Pictures' "The Sixth Sense" and Miramax Films' "Pulp Fiction."

The agreement consists of 100 titles from Walt Disney Studios. Other films in the deal include Touchstone's "Armageddon" and "Enemy of the State," Miramax's "Shakespeare in Love" and the "Scream" trilogy and Disney's "George of the Jungle" and "The Mighty Ducks."

The date each title comes available varies, with the rights to the first kicking in in January 2009 and the last becoming available about 10 years after that. The license term also varies from 18 or 24 months, depending on the film.

"HBO is the ideal home for these quality library titles," HBO co-president Harold Akselrad said. "Our subscribers will greatly enjoy watching these movies for years to come."

Added DADT president Janice Marinelli: "HBO is a premier movie destination, and we are excited that their customers will be able to experience these films for the first time on their network."

While HBO has acquired a library package, newer Disney films go to Starz Entertainment, which has an exclusive film output deal with the distributor.

Financial terms of the HBO deal were not disclosed.

Thanks Jack! Some of the older titles have of course already run on ABC and some have aired previously & currently of the Starz/Encore group. 'Enemy of the State' and 'Shakespeare In Love' air constantly on their Mystery and Love channels.
