  • What are the favorite CDs that you are listening to?

It just would not be an entertainment forum without this thread!

    For me it has been:

Kraftwerk (I have been trying to get a sound like theirs for my own band "Audiotronic" with my analog synths...it is really hard but fun)

    Oingo Boingo

New Order / Joy Division / Electronic / Monaco / Revenge / The Other Two (all these bands are made from former members of Joy Division)

    The Killers

And a bunch of others that I am to lazy to list right now...so what is everyone else listening too?

Thank you for starting this thread. I have been so busy that I didn't realize my Jet playlist on iTunes had ended.

The most popular playlists on my iTunes/iPod are:

    Avenue Q
The Beastie Boys (a staple, really)
    Black Eyed Peas
    Chicago (movie soundtrack)
    Duran Duran
    Erasure
    Jet
    John Mayer
    The Killers
    Wicked! The Musical

If the kids are in the car, I go between:

Radio Disney (if it is a clear signal)
    HMH Holiday soundtrack
    Nightmare Before Christmas Soundtrack
    Wishes soundtrack
    Wicked!
    The Wizard of Oz
    Silly Mickey Mouse tunes

While at home, we will put on Radio Disney thru our DirectTV.
Anything listed on the park maps as an attraction is fair game for inclusion in the Rally.
I cannot confirm nor deny the inclusion of any attraction in the Rally.

May the Gumballs Be with You...Always.

    NO GOATS!

Been listening to quite a bit of Classic Punk lately. The Ramones, The Dead Kennedys, The Clash, and such.
Beyond that, my music tends to be pretty varied, too varied to sum it up here.

Funny, the lackluster movie soundtrack of Phantom has me listening to my old London cast recording too. It was such a great score, I don't know why they had to crap up the movie with such bad vocals.

Yeah I'm not even going to bother buying the movie soundtrack, it was so dissapointing, seriously couldn't they have found a better phantom? It was depressing!

"By the time you get out of here, you'll all be wearing gold plated diapers!"

I could go on forever defending the Phantom movie, but that's not the pupose of this thread, so I'll spare you all.
I've been listening to a lot of Depeche Mode, Placebo, and Kill Hannah lately. Plus the Fantasticks soundtrack and a couple of Michael Crawford albums.

Don't get me wrong, the movie was good and I did like it, I just think the vocals in the broadway version are way better.

I spent the afternoon in complete silence filing nearly 100 CDs in the Rock, Lounge and International secions of our media shelves. The fun part about that is that I discovered some CDs I had forgotten about (and I also discovered I had 2 copies of the Joy Division compilation Permanent) I love our music collection, but sometimes it is work maintaining it all.

So, what I'm listening to at the moment is SILENCE, although, I'm thinking about putting in The Hives in a moment.

I loved the movie. It is just painful for me to listen to because I know the Broadway and London Cast Recordings so well. I've seen the movie twice and can't shake the thought that it isn't being sung correctly.

By the way, LOVE Depeche Mode.

I'm currently listening to Digitally Imported's "chillout" stream. I guess I could say some of this music really sounds like Tomorrowland noise, a lot of computer generated sounds. It basically un-stresses me, although sometimes it gets to be a bit much when there's a whole track with someone talking backwards or something.

When I'm not seeking out something relaxing online, it's all about the XM Radio. Local radio has so many commercials that they fill up half my commute. I've been subscribed to XM since the start of 2003 and while I haven't always been happy with their programming decisions, one listen of FM is enough to remind me why I decided to pay for radio in the first place.

I also own an iPod, but it's mostly used for listening to audiobooks and moving data files between computers.

I love the Hives and I am so pissed off! In NZ they have a big music thing called the Big Day Out, but I didn't buy any tickets, Well yesterday I was watching TV and the Hives are apparently going to be there! GAH! I wanted to see them, but now its too late to arrange transport etc etc. Oh well C'est la vie.

I've been listening to a lot of George Harrison lately. I just downloaded a bunch of Traveling Wilbury tunes and have been playing them for the past couple days. I've also been working on a Harrison analytical site (stolen...influenced by miceage) so that's contributed to my listening habits.
